What We Are Working On

Standing Up Notwithstanding Removal Withstanding

Sue Nelson is writing a book based on 30 years of experience with midlife professionals in transition. Some walked through their transitions easily, quickly and happily. Others staggered under the weight of it, were lonely and frustrated. What made the difference? A set of behaviors I now call Withstanding. You can be Withstanding, too. We all can. Read on to learn more and then see if you’d like to connect with us. And thank you for reading this far and considering these ideas!

What We Mean

Standing is the ability to know who you are, what you need and what you are capable of doing. We require standing to be with other people who are standing. You know how this feels when a court says you have standing to bring a lawsuit, or you stand by something you said.

Withstanding is how we get our needs met, standing with others who provide what we need, or who we help get their needs met, or people we share needs with (like family members who break bread together).

Notwithstanding, is when we don’t have rights we should have, or don’t notice our needs, or put them aside. Sometimes we are Notwithstanding in our minds, when we could be Withstanding in reality, except for the rules we picked up to stop Withstanding.

We are in the process of developing courses from the raw material that Sue Nelson has gathered over 30 years. Some of it has been used with clients in career transition. Some is new. All of it is practical. Brain science helps us deal with trauma brain even as lay people. Taking care of things around us is a painless way of clearing pathways to our psyches. And neural programming makes change easier. Tracking changes makes them stick. I hope you will like the new work we are bringing out and find it profitable.

The 5 Main Tasks of Mid-life

For Standing Up

  • Your Health - physical, mental, emotional - whatever you mean by health

  • The place you call home - repairs, aesthetics, and peacefulness in your physical spaces

  • The person or people you are building toward the future with

  • Family relationships need to be repaired. (Don’t worry; you don’t have to spend time with people who are abusive to you.)

  • Resentments need to be resolved. This is the most powerful of the tasks.

This short course will help you eliminate obstacles from your path to employment. It supports receiving good things like job offers and work orders, and clears the path so you can engage in exchanging in your community. Check out the VIDEO and see if Standing is something you’d like support for. If you need help, we offer a Guide to jumpstart your changes.

Demonstration Project

Changing from Notwithstanding to Withstanding
We are seeking applications from midlife professionals who are interested in improving their lives. We are especially interested in you if your mystified by why you can’t get ahead, feel there is something vaguely wrong with the way you are feeling, or have ideas you’d like to share, but can’t bring yourself to talk with people about them.

There are 12 units in the course:

  1. The 6 main needs of Standing, the ropes we are tied up with, i.e., Notwithstanding, and the 6 relationship intelligences - strengths we already have (unknowingly often) to untie the ropes of Notwithstanding and move into Withstanding.

  2. Receiving journaling and Seeing (Includes how we see)

  3. Neural Programming (Directing healing energy) [My Gesture, nutrition science, walking to WSing (how to not stay in the house)]

  4. What is in our hands? (Interests, encouragement, responsibility and responsiveness. Responsiveness is feeling in response to interests and encouragement. Responsibility is what we do when we’re feeling)

  5. Receiving 2 and Networking 1 Sharing my competence (30 second commercial and asking for help)

  6. Responding (What to do when we’re feeling, now that we’ve been Withstanding) Visibility 2 Seeing ourselves (Photographs)

  7. Grounding and Receiving - Tracking our recovery: time tracking and goal grouping (Tracking with another(s) is Withstanding our desires and dreams and taking actions to achieve them. We are Withstanding in the group. This group can continue)

  8. Grounding and Receiving: Garden in the spring (Really expanding)

  9. Starshine and playing too small. Where we have been hiding we now let our feelings out.

  10. Visibility 3 - Letting others see our feeling

  11. Withstanding, seeing “angels,” people who are helping us (packets of energy circulating; accelerating through communicating)

  12. Geometry in places you frequent to make your changes easier. (Includes magic systems)

We’ll begin at the Winter Solstice into the Spring
